EXPLORE ALBANY & MIDDLETON BEACH

Whale watching in Albany is by far one of the most amazing experiences to be had in the region. From June to October you can get up close and personal with these magnificent animals by going out on a whale watching tour with one of our local tour companies.

Alternatively you may be lucky enough to see them from the shore. During mating and calving season you can often spot these gentle giants in the coves around Albany along with other marine life such as dophines and seals. If you are up for some shore based whale watching, bring a chair, some snacks and binoculars and spend a leisurely few hours on the lookout for whales. Our own Middleton Beach is one of the known spots for whale watching as are Ellen Cove Boardwalk, Discovery Bay, Marine Drive lookouts, Cheynes Beach, Camp Quaranup, Gull Rock and Bald Head.

Albany has a rich whaling history and a visit to Discovery Bay and the historic Whaling Station should also be on the to do list while visiting the area.
